Cocoa Tea was born Calvin George Scott in Kingston Jamaica on September 3rd 1959,
and has been making sweet reggae music since 1983 when he recorded his first successful song “Lost My Sonia”.
This is the first track featured on the album and is followed by some fantastic remastered tracks.
Track 10, “Settle Down”, a Jiggy Rub a Dub Track which will take u back 2 your roots 4 sure..
Track 3, “Sweet Cocoa Tea”,.. to me sums up this bredren. With his vibrant music and his hypnotic voice, Sweet is
the correct adjective to use when describing his music.
There’s some quality reminders on this album of how widespread Cocoa is, with tunes like ” Too Much” and
“Dont Be Shy”, We can show nothing but love for the vibes hes contributed over the years to his hugely extended
audience.
The Albums sweet but i was a bit disappointed not to hear “To Young To Be My Lover” as a Bonus Track.
Thats the tune i most associate with Cocoa but still.. a good all round rootsy album for them chill out days..
Big up Cocoa and his remastered Album, he’s still runnin tings !!
