CEOs of Danger Zone Music Group, Delmar ‘Della’ Drummond and Edward ‘Nine’ Warren, and their team are reeling in the success of 2008. Their hard work and dedication paid off, with the label, its artistes and CEO earning multiple nominations and recognition for the work they produced.
2008 was a busy year for Danger Zone, which had them on the road on numerous tours, in the studio producing some of reggae’s best releases and in the streets shooting some top music videos, all of which hit the airwaves in a massive way and dominating numerous international charts.
The dawn of 2009 proved the powerful impact of Danger Zone in 2008 as it continued its reggae dominance, with major entities giving it the well-deserved nod.
The February 5 staging of the prestigious Excellence in Music & Entertainment (EME) Awards sees CEO Delmar ‘Della’ Drummond being nominated for Producer of the Year (Reggae), one of the label’s headline artistes Ce’Cile for Singjay of the Year (Female), and their boom riddim Journey for Rhythm of the Year (Reggae).
In the HYPE TV Awards, Ce’Cile is nominated for Female Singer of the Year, while in the RETV MVP Awards, Ce’Cile gets the nod in the Best Music Video (Female) category with ‘Ride Or Die’.

Among the recognitions, ‘I’m Waiting’ from Ce’Cile in the top 20 reggae songs, ‘Hot Long Time’ (remix) from Junior Reid/Jah Cure/Mavado/Flo Rida in the top 20 dancehall songs, Ce’Cile named among the Best Dress Female, Journey named among the Reggae Rhythms of the Year, and Delmar ‘Della’ Drummond named in the Producers of the Year category.

Indeed, it was a great year for Danger Zone, but according to the CEOs, that’s just the beginning of greater things to come, with 2009 the dawning of a whole new world of greatness for the label.
Ce’Cile’s long awaited ‘Waiting’ album hit the streets in January to rave reviews, featuring tracks like ‘Ride Or Die’ on the Journeys riddim produced by Ce’Cile herself and ‘Hot Like We’ on the hot Red Alert riddim, along with the title track featuring Shaggy.
In February, look out for two wicked riddim compilations from the label – the energetic dancehall hit 13 Clap and the smooth reggae beat Twilight. Jah Cure will capture the hearts of reggae lovers once again with another great album in April titled ‘Universal Cure’. And there are a whole lot more of exciting projects in the making. But not to worry, it will all unfold in perfect time as Danger Zone continues to unify the world through music.
