
After a recent successful tour of England where he was promoting his ‘On My Mind’ album, singer Da’Ville is now in New York where he had performed at the IRAWMA at the World Famous Apollo Theater and also he took home the award for the Most Improved Artiste of the year on May 5th. On May 6 he had a special appearance at the Madison Square Garden that had 25’000 patrons, with acts that includes Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks and Tony Mattherhorn.
On May 10, Da’Ville began his promotion for ‘On My Mind’ album. He has visited various radio stations such as: DJ Roy at Irie Jam, Pat McKay at Sirius Satellite and Kiss FM, Dahved Levy at WBLS, Bobby Konders & Jabba at Hot 97, Steelie Bashment at Waah Gwan, Freaky Friday at Premiere Radio Network, Red Hot Radio and Ed, Egypt, and Ashy at Power 105
His next stop was at a pre-Mother’s Day show that was sold out at Club XO, hosted by WBLS Davhed Levy on Saturday, May 12. The music was provided by G.B. – God Bless of Road International and Kitchen Man. There were lots of giveaways for all the mothers in the house, who were falling at his feet. The event was broadcasted live on Red Hot 102.3FM.
His album release party was held at BLVD in Manhattan on May 13 and with another launch party at The Base Nightclub in Brooklyn on May 18. On May 14 and May 16, he will have his official press days at VP Records Headquarters in Queens, New York.
Already Da’Ville has met and greeted some of his fans in an in-store meeting at the VP Retail Store in Brooklyn on May 12; he will be at J&R in Manhattan on May 15, and Moody’s in the Bronx on May 18.
The remix of the single ‘On My Mind’ featuring Sean Paul continues to enjoy extensive airplay and with growing listener ship worldwide, also it is the number one on the BBCXTRA top 10 reggae single chart in England. Other singles such as ‘This Time I Promise’, ‘Can’t Get Over You’, ‘In Heaven’ and ‘I’m In Love’ among others are also getting heavy rotation on the radio stations and on sound systems.
Da’ville will be returning to Jamaica on May 19 where he will be performing at Star Jam in Old Harbor, St. Catherine and on the 23rd at Little London High School, Westmoreland.
The former ARP group member, since going solo, has been soaring to higher heights to the extent he was awarded with the coveted title Singer of the Year for 2006.
