In the past 9 months, DUB STATION has
– conceived and recorded 2 full length albums (available at the Reggae4i KRucial Arts Online Store and distributed by Ernie B’s Reggae)
– launched the 2 CD’s official release (as of this emailing), accompanied by a Radio Station ID program and current mailings to U.S. and international Industry targets
– toured the entire West Coast:11 cities, driving 4200 plus miles to 4 states: CA-OR-WA-NV
Showcased were SHAKA BLACK’s irrepressible singjay style on "Chant Rastafari," a studio and mostly live album which captures the stage show energy of DUB STATION and SHAKA BLACK as never before.
Also busting the scene is TOM O’BRIEN – an Irish-American singer-songwriter with an acoustic style – who writes primarily in the Reggae format. "Now and Then" features 3 new songs with DUB STATION, as well as previous productions, and gives a good sense of TOM O’BRIEN’s broad-ranging talent.
Some sample quotes from the road:

Bouncer: "these guys are sick"
Fresno promoter: "the cover we charged was too low for the quality show you guys put on" Promoter from LA (who’d driven to SD for the show): "I messed up [by not booking you on this tour], maybe I can fly you in for an additional date?"
Fresno fan: "my friend heard you on the radio in Arcata [400 mi. away] and said we had to come see you. I gotta tell you, the show caught me totally off guard – it was much better than I even expected"
Ventura promoter: "the band is unique, it’s raw, it’s real"
Portland promoter: "as with all the really great bands – Dub Station sounded even better live than it does on record!"
Fans: "rad, awesome; this is more the type of show I’d expect to see at a Festival"
Caspar club owner: "next time, we’ll have to have you for 2 nights"
Shaka Black to Kyle Russell (tour organizer & bassist with Dub Station): "keep doing what you’re doing – NOBODY a do what you do"
