At KRucial Community Radio, quality trumps quantity. Each segment is under half an hour, just right for listeners' busy lifestyles (and diversified Radio programming). With an initial focus on the classics of Roots Reggae, the program is working towards spotlight themes and genre-focus programming (say, California Reggae bands). Eventually, guest Dj's will be invited in to showcase their specialties (UK Dub, or whatnot). BIO: With KRucial Community Radio Network, founder Kyle Russell comes full circle, from being a listener who made mix tapes 30 years ago, to now putting his extensive knowledge of the genre to work reaching (and hopefully, teaching) a wider audience (than ever before), about what Reggae is, has been, and is becoming. Russell's experience as a musician (bass player) and founder of the award-winning Dub Station band, led to his backing of (literally) hundreds of artists in a long string of stage shows (including multiple tours & Festival appearances). Complemented by many years providing Management, Booking, and now (more than ever) Promotion, this foray into Radio promises to be a very unique opportunity to share the latest & greatest (as well as his insights about the music) with interested listeners. Inspired by Associate/Sponsors BigUp Radio & AirPlayDirect, Russell saw this as his moment to put back on his headphones and share some of what he's heard over the years - as well as what he's enjoying right now. More information on his companies KRucial Reggae & ReggaePR may be found at www.Reggae4i.com (or you can email him at ReggaePR@AOL.com).

About Teflon: Throughout decades, the parish of St Mary has been widely recognized as one of few parishes to always produced topnotch Jamaican musicians. The likes of Ninja Man, Lady Saw and Capleton are all sons and daughters of the ‘banana’ parish and have successfully paved the way for other young talents to explore. There was little doubt amongst the public, that the trend would continue when they got a first-hand experience to listen this fiery reggae artiste name Teflon, born Shaniel Andre Watson on February 15, 1985. Though he group up in a Christian home, faith led him onto the Rastafarian path, and reggae music subsequently gave birth to one of the most-promising young act. The ever-blazing Teflon began his musical journey at the tender age of ten, when he found favor with the congo drums and shortly after it was the flute and keyboard. This helped him developed a strong connection with music and inevitable, he reaped successes in music classes and caught the admiration of his classmates.

Truckback Records has released a brand new version of one of dancehall reggae's best loved rub-a-dub riddims, Freedom Blues, to mark the 50th anniversary of Jamaican independence in 2012. Starting with the bubbling, seductive melodies and bass line originally made a staple of Jamaican dancehalls by Pinchers, Admiral Tibet and Brigadier Jerry, Truckback producers Adrian and Steve Locke injected the dancehall classic with up-to-the-time vibes for Jamaica's biggest stars. Now, for the first time, Tarrus Riley, Gyptian, Busy Signal, Warrior King and Turbulence contributed contemporary narratives and are excited to team up with Truckback on this brand new commemorative release, called Freedom Shines, that will connect longtime dancehall fans and the newest generations. Truckback's Steve Locke says the Freedom Shines riddim is one way for Jamaica's older and younger generations to come together through the music."Going into the project, we wanted to use the power of music to unite Jamaica. Freedom Shines brings together the old and the new — everything old is new again!" Adrian Locke adds, "Tarrus, Gyptian, Busy, Warrior and Turbulence loved the idea of reintroducing a classic with a special spin on it." Indeed, freedom certainly shines on Truckback's first release of 2012. Freedom Shines Tarrus Riley – Original Dancehall Busy Signal – Tell Dem Already Gyptian – In My Arms Warrior King – Time & Wisdom Turbulence – Respect Woman Public Listening Link: http://soundcloud.com/truckbackrecords/sets/freedom-shines-celebrating ; Twitter @truckbackrecord FB "Truckback Reccords
