The February 17 launch of the new book "Global Reggae", edited by Professor Carolyn Cooper (UWI Press), brought out the stars of the new roots reggae generation including Protoje, Nomaddz and Jah9 as well as familiar names such as the former Prime Minister Edward Seaga (a former record label owner and producer himself) and drummer Ras Michael.
"Global Reggae" explores the globalization of reggae music and its “wild child” dancehall in ways that reclaim identities and establish ties of affiliation beyond the Caribbean and 'To the world'! Contributors include Peter Ashbourne, Erna Brodber, Louis Chude-Sokei, Carolyn Cooper, Ellen Koehlings, Pete Lilly, Roger Steffens and more. The book cover was designed by Michael Thompson (aka Freestylee).
You can find the book on the UWI Press website here.
