About UWE BANTON:
Uwe Banton can look back on many years of experience within the Reggae Music fraternity. Being infected with the “Reggae virus“ in the early 1980's by artists like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jacob Miller, Burning Spear, etc, he made his first trip to Jamaica in 1981. Back in Germany he started DJing on Riddims back in 1984 during the legendary era of King Jammy's Riddims like Sleng Teng and others. In the early 90's he joined his first band as it became clear that he would find his genre within musical realms of Roots Music. He later joined the Band “MOVEMENTS“ which consisted of members from Jamaica, Africa and Germany, and for over 10 years stood as a guarantor of authentic Roots Reggae and played on all major Reggae festivals in Germany and neighbouring countries.
