HIGH HOPES CONSCIOUS RECORDS releases I Boochi’s first single “Kingston Step’n” off the EP entitled “Kingston 4 Step’n”.
High Hopes Conscious Records has released the single for I Boochi (Kizran Levy). Growing up in K4, I Boochi experienced the life of a typical Kingston youth. Looking over your shoulder, keeping your back against the wall and bleaching to protect your and yours were his mottos. Boochi, at the tender age 13, was forced to grow up quickly (over night really) when his family left Jamaica putting the care and child rearing of his younger siblings in his hands.
There is no school that could have taught him about the struggle of which he was about to go through with such responsibilities. It was this life changing experience that put him on the road to finding his own musical talent and prowess. Boochi is a tireless worker when it comes to his music and production. He consistently sought out advice and tutelage from such reggae greats as Sugar Minott & Youthman Promotions, Tespa from One Blood (Junior Reid), and JAH Lloyd Yellow Fence Hilltop Studios (Brooklyn).
The full EP will be released in November along with a music video.
The EP was recorded, produced and voiced in concert with and the High Hopes Band (JAH Dinko-guitar, keys, sequencing & Julie Feola ‘Sista Blista’-bass) at High Hopes Studios, Boston, MA.
