One of the most prolific up and coming reggae artiste today is the high energy, high performance Arrows Recording artiste ‘I-Octane’. The twenty two (22) year old is much focused and his music is quickly spreading across the reggae music boundaries all over the world. Many have compared his energy, style and flow to that of current popular reggae giants but this unique artiste has carved his own niche within the industry.
It was just a few weeks ago that I-Octane performed for the second time on Spring Break in Negril and he gave the patrons a performance they will never forget. At 4 am he entered the stage with no inhibition and was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd, eager to hear his flow and watch him perform. This artiste could do no wrong as he reeled out hits like Stab Vampire, Nuh Frighten We, Gun Rise, Poverty & Different Page and had the crowd singing along word for word. He left the stage with a big smile and a re-assuring “Love Unu!” to shouts of “More, More, More” from the evidently unsatisfied spectators.
The positive comments and feedback from radio jocks all over the world are pouring in, many of whom became fans of ‘I-Octane’ since the release of his ‘Different Page’ single. His current single and collaboration with popular Dancehall/Reggae artiste Spragga Benz entitled ‘Hurt Mi’ has left an indelible mark on fans and well wishers as It sends a clear message that the youths are concerned about their future because without them, there will be none. Just yesterday “Star sell again, disturbing headline, youth missing one more youth can’t find, it Hurt Mi” this child, 9 years old was stabbed 13 times and buggered.
I-Octane has entered the game on a different page and is striving for a place in history among the great legends of Reggae and for him with hard work and persistence these heights are indeed attainable.
