Jamaica’s very own Mr. Peppa delivered an outstanding performance at the two-day UCLA Cultural Affairs Commission 21st Annual JazzReggae Festival over the Memorial Day weekend, May 27-28, in Los Angeles, California. He gave the thousands of music lovers an energised set complete with hot numbers such as ‘Life Of A Superstar’, ‘Gangsta Gorilla’, ‘Talk’ (‘Hypocrite A Talk’), ‘When Last’, ‘Pressure Dem’ and ‘Wining’.
The DJ worked alongside reggae greats like Luciano, Baby Cham, General Degree, Triniti, E-Dee, Syren, Mello Banton, Boom Tony and Belizean Eljai on Reggae Day. The night before, Grammy Award-winning and chart-topping Jill Scott led the Jam Day roster along with Lupe Fiasco, Les Nubians, Soulive, Christian Scott, J*Davey and Dujeous.
The UCLA JazzReggae Festival is a pre-eminent celebration of music, art, culture, and diversity held every Memorial Day Weekend on the UCLA Intramural Field. The event has been highly acclaimed by the press, artistes, and the community as one of California’s premiere concerts in both Jazz and Reggae genres.
Highly anticipated by thousands of music enthusiasts, the festival has not only become a staple of Los Angeles tradition, but also one of the West Coast’s premiere concerts.
