Commenting on the remix and its early premier on BigUp Radio, Reggae promoter and music insider Jonathan Mack (www.jonathanmack.com) said, “When it comes time for picking the hottest artists to do collabs with, imagine a remix from the master producer/singer/songwriter Stephen Marley who created the smash hit “Jam Rock,” and now has his own hit album out “Mind Control.” Now combine that creative energy with the one and only Damian “Jr Gong” Marley and you get a smash hit.”
With her roots in Ska music and the heavily Caribbean sounds of No Doubt’s music, Stefani is no stranger to the Reggae world. The multi-platinum artist has done collaborations with Bounty Killer, Lady Saw and a remix version of Rich Girl. The evolution and return to those Reggae sounds is clear in the Marley Mic remix of Stefani’s “Now that you got it!” with the mix of Stefani and Marley destined to be a hit in clubs and on-air.
“The minute we were given a sneak-preview of the remix, we knew our listeners would love it,” said BigUp CEO Raoul Krakowski, “but we didn’t expect the wave of requests that immediately followed – to call this a break-out track would be a huge understatement.” Krakowski continued, “We’re thrilled to be able to share this with our fans and to have been one of the first stations to take the Marley remix of Stefani’s track to the masses!”
The Stephen Marley remix of Stefani’s “Now That You Got It!” featuring Damian Marley is in regular rotation on BigUp Radio’s Dancehall station and directly at http://www.bigupradio.com/gwen.jsp.

About Gwen Stefani
Gwen Renée Stefani (born October 3, 1969) is an American singer, songwriter, fashion designer and occasional actress. Stefani debuted in 1992 as the front woman of the third wave ska band No Doubt, whose 1995 album Tragic Kingdom propelled them to stardom and sold more than fifteen million copies worldwide. It spawned the singles “Just a Girl”, “Spiderwebs”, and the airplay number-one “Don’t Speak”. The band’s popularity went into decline with its third album Return of Saturn (2000), but Rock Steady (2001) introduced dancehall and reggae production into its music, which generally received positive reviews.
