
KINGSTON, Jamaica, April 1 : Irish songbird Sinead O’Connor is tackling reggae, working on an album in Jamaica that is to include such classics as Bob Marley’s “War.”
The album is being produced by Sly Dunbar, along with Taxi label founder Robbie Shakespeare, “E! Online” reports, and is due for summer release by the Britain’s Sanctuary Records.
Recently, O’Connor has been focusing on Irish ballads.She first burst onto the music scene in 1991 with the cover of Prince’s “Nothing Compares 2 U” and made headlines the following year by shredding a picture of Pope John Paul II during a performance on “Saturday Night Live.”
