DERRICK “DIGGY” POSADAS
I’ve been singing eversince childhood. As a child I was told that I couldn’t carry a tune and I was always singing off key. That never discouraged me because the feeling of singing felt to good to stop. From that point on, I continued singing wherever I could, school choir, church, I was even part of a couple R&B groups! Then I was introduced to island music, and I found my passion. That’s when I started the Mango Kingz. After 14 years of performing all over the place, we finally decided it was time that we released our own material. All the hard work and patience has finally paid off. When I’m not with the Kingz, you could find me in the lab doing some mad scientist stuff.
Hi. I’m Melvin! People know me as “Melvinsings!” I am the baby of the band and they never let me forget it! I used to listen to the Kingz as a young lad! I like french fries & dinosaurs. I don’t like clowns and creepy looking birds. If I could be anything, I would want to be a beach bum cause the party is always fun on the beach! I’m still in school & I’m studying to become a hypnotist or maybe even a magician… Just kidding, I’m in school to get my Bachelor’s in Child Development. I love music & I hope you guys do too. ALOHA!
ADRIAN “AGE” RICALDE
(To the Tune of “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” Theme song)
In east side San Jose he was born and raised, playing some type of instrument was where he spent most of his days. From the keys and vocals trying to act all cool, to the guitar and the uke that he would take to school. Finally, he decided to do some good, he joined the church choir up in his neighborhood. He did one little solo, and damn he was scared, but people kept saying that he had talent up there. He kept singing and playing for quite a few years, till one day he picked up the bass and it all became clear. If anything I could say that this love was rare, a hella fly instrument, playing notes that weren’t even there! I pulled up to a gig, and it was about about three or four, the Mango Kingz manager came a knocking at my door. He asked me to join and I was finally there; that’s how I became the Mango Kingz bass player.
