
Gillett Entertainment Group is thrilled to announce the return of AKON, WYCLEF JEAN and SEAN PAUL to the Bell Centre this summer on July 9th.
After winning music fans over with his 2003 double-platinum debut Trouble, Senegalese singer AKON returned with his sophomore album, Konvicted, which soared to the top of album charts around the world and is now certified multi-platinum. Akon has established himself as an in-demand record producer and guest artist (T-Pain, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Obie Trice, Daddy Yankee, Gwen Stefani). The international star has sold over 15 million records worldwide. Akon headlined his last show at the Bell Centre on September 24th as part of his tour with Rihanna.
The prolific WYCLEF JEAN, Grammy Award-winning musician, producer, entrepreneur, and humanitarian who founded the legendary ensemble the Fugees, is back in Montreal in support of his latest album The Carnival II: Memoirs of an Immigrant after selling out 2 shows at the Metropolis in February. Wyclef has effortlessly crossed genres, generation and geographic boundaries as a musical goodwill ambassador and has created the non-profit foundation Yéle Haiti to provide aid and assistance to the impoverished nation.
The worldwide ambassador of dancehall reggae, SEAN PAUL, is back. Set to release his 4th studio album this fall following the huge international success of Dutty Rock (2002) and The Trinity (2005) Sean Paul will raise the temperature of the Bell Centre as he did with Mariah Carey on August 15th 2006. With by the success of singles such as “Gimme the Light,” “Get Busy,” “Temperature,” … he has brought dancehall reggae to new heights.
