
The Reggae Festival of Wales is a nonprofit making organization committed to raising Cultural Awareness through Music and other Multicultural Activities. From July 7th – 9th, 2006, they are commemorating the life of legend Bob Marley. Highlights include performances by Rita Marley (Bob’s wife), Cedella Marley (Bob’s mother), Richie Spice, and many others.
Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire (PRWEB) June 8, 2006 — The venerable ‘Rita Marley’ will join a host of performers and fans to celebrate the 4th annual Reggae Festival of Wales, commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the passing of Reggae Legend ROBERT NESTA MARLEY / BOB MARLEY– 6th Feb.1945 – 11th May 1981, at Haverfordwest County Showground, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, UK, SA62 4BW. For 3 days, Friday 7th, Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th July 2006, the event features live entertainment outdoors, on stage from 12 mid-day until 12 midnight followed by DJ Sounds, food & refreshments until 2am on each day. Licensing and public safety conditions require that the Reggae Festival of Wales only allow admission by pre-booked tickets so that festival organizers have advance notice confirmation of expected attendance. Event highlights include a biographical music film about Bob Marley, as well as a performance from Mrs. Cedella Marley Booker (mother of Bob Marley). Other artists include Levi Roots, Colour Red, Iration Steppas, Richie Spice, Everton Blender, and many more.
Solidifying it’s position as the leading annual international Reggae event in the UK featuring top British and International pioneers of Reggae music from the early 60’s as well as contemporary Roots Reggae artists, the Reggae Festival of Wales offers a unique chance for fans and newcomers to enjoy this music live in a natural countryside setting and family environment. Along with the usual wide range of cultural, craft and culinary workshops, this year Reggae Wales includes an open-main stage, a second massive indoor arena which will feature the evening entertainment, and there will also be another bar ‘The Respect Reggae Lounge’ featuring unsigned acts and DJs.
The Reggae Festival of Wales is a unique cultural, education and music event and organization, which brings together people of all backgrounds in the UK, and from around the world, to develop a greater understanding and enjoyment centred on ‘unity amongst people’ through music.
