There is just no containing singjay Vegas who seem to take a delight in setting trends when it comes to the music.

His latest achievement is winning a soca award from the Soca Awards Organization (SAO) in the category Ragga Soca Song of the Year with ‘Genie Wine’.

The award was announced last Friday in New York at its official ceremony. Among the other winners were Kevin Lyttle who copped Male Soca Vocalist of the Year with ‘Home For Carnival’ and Machel Montano who copped three awards.

Vegas is in high spirits on this fete as for him it is proof that his music has long moved beyond the dancehall border.
